BIRDS

Birds are warm-blooded vertebrates and are the only animals to have feathers. Having 9,500 different identified species, they are a very diverse group coming in all shapes, sizes and colors. They also hold the title for most widespread animal, but with 70% of the species calling the tropical rainforest home, it’s no guess as to where they really thrive. They can also be very social creatures and sometimes will be observed engaging in social behaviors amongst the group. Some bird species participate in a yearly migration with varying distances, but none more impressive than the Artic tern which essentially flies around the world each year going from the north to south pole and back again in its yearly tradition.
